01 - The American Legion Unit 194 Constitution and By-Laws

The constitution and by-laws of Unit 194 American Legion Auxiliary contains information to help officers and unit members fulfill their responsibilities. The Constitution defines eligibility requirements, parliamentary procedures,  by-laws, and more.

02 - American Legion Auxiliary National Constitution and By-Laws

The constitution and by-laws of American Legion Auxiliary contains the fundamental principles which govern operations.  The Bylaws establish the specific rules of guidance by which the Unit is to function. The constitution will serve to:

  • Clarify our purpose

  • Delineate basic structure

  • Provide the cornerstone for building an effective group

  • Allow members and potential members to have a better understanding of what the organization is all about and how it functions.

The Constitution covers the fundamental principles but does not prescribe specific procedures for operating your organization.  Bylaws set forth in detail the procedures we must follow to conduct business in an orderly manner.  They provide further definition to the Articles of the Constitution and can be changed more easily as the needs of the organization change.

03 - Department of Florida American Legion Auxiliary Constitution and By-Laws

The constitution and by-laws of the Department of Florida American Legion Auxiliary contains information to help officers and unit members fulfill their responsibilities. The Constitution defines eligibility requirements, parliamentary procedures,  by-laws, and more.

04 - American Legion Auxiliary Unit Handbook

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit Handbook is a comprehensive source of information on the American Legion Auxiliary, its programs, Unit operations, procedures, membership eligibility and prescribed ceremonies.  It is provided to assist the Unit’s officers in conducting business and directing the activities of the Unit.  A successful Unit is a supportive partner to the Post and a positive force in the community.

Additional publications on various programs and procedures are available through your Department Headquarters and on the National Auxiliary Website at www.ALAforVeterans.org

05 - The Department of Florida Online Unit Guide

The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest female patriotic organization and must stay enthused to keep the A.L.A. in the light.  The Department of Florida theme is “LIGHTING THE WAY FOR VETERANS.”  The lighthouse is our symbol to give us guidance in working our Auxiliary programs.  If every Unit and District in the Department of Florida promotes the Auxiliary programs we will “light the way.”

Each member of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Florida should have a copy of the Unit Guide. Make yourself aware of its contents and be informed. Your questions can be answered by referring to the Unit Guide, Unit Handbook and Roberts Rules of Order.
